Don't be afraid to re- create your RV to reflect you.

If you are anything like us, you probably knew as soon as you walked into your new RV that it

was the one you were meant to have. That sense that you had arrived at a place you would call home. Over Yonder had me at "corner cabinet over sink".

Only later did I begin to notice the soft walls where there was some minor water damage. Only later did I realize that the floors were nothing more than painted OSB board. Only later did I realize that the "recently upgraded" refrigerator/freezer did not in fact have an actual freezer, just a small shelf near the top of the refrigerator where I could store filled ice trays and hope that they would freeze over time.

Jim and I bought Over Yonder in early January of 2018 and were well aware that she was an older RV, a 1992 Coachman. Jim liked the low mileage overall and I, as previously mentioned, loved the little cabinet over the sink in the kitchen. Everything else we knew we could either live with or change to suit us. And that is what we want to remind everyone to consider when thinking about buying an RV. Curtains and window treatments can be changed. Cabinets can be painted or re stained. Refrigerators can be swapped out. One of the most fun things to do once you pick out your RV is to change it.

Since we brought Over Yonder home we have redone the floors everywhere but the bathroom(that is also planned just not complete yet), put in a residential type refrigerator,

hung new curtains and new window shades, removed the oven and replaced it with a small dishwasher and lastly remodeled the dining room area to be a second seating area. Watch the attached video.

There was also artwork in the RV when we purchased it and I used the existing frames and hardware and placed our pictures inside in order to utilize what was already in place. I did add some additional pictures on a wall by using command strips - no more holes in our walls.

Yes, the upholstery does reflect back to the early 90's when the RV was new however it is in great shape and at least it is a pretty shade of blue velvet. The point is that down the road we can change that too if we want to. Don't be afraid to try.
